I’m a freelance science and technology journalist, and I also write science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories. On a good day, my browser history makes it hard to tell which is which.
My work has appeared online and in print at the Washington Post, as well as on Gizmodo and in the online editions of Air & Space, Discover, and Popular Mechanics. I’ve also been a contributing editor at NFC Times since late 2012.
My short zombie story, “If All Else Perished,” appeared in the October 2012 charity anthology FEAR from UK-based Crooked Cat Books, and I’m in the process of revising my first novel, an urban fantasy story.
When I’m not writing or researching, I’m usually reading, knitting, playing RPGs, hiding from search & rescue dogs, or exploring old cemeteries. Currently, I live in Manhattan, Kansas, where I share an office with a massive hoard of books and an awesome Border Collie named Duke.
